At a young age, Marietta was always told to go to school and find a good safe job. "When I was growing up, I never really saw or knew of a filipina or minority woman business owners. I never thought a minority woman could own and operate a company." Right after college, she did what she was told...

Marietta spent years working for others and helping other founders realize their dreams. She was in charge of managing the Administration, Human Resources and Operations at a successful Venture Capital firm in Silicon Valley. On a daily basis she would see young hopefuls come in and pitch their dream.

"I realized that it was time to give my dream a shot! I didn't think I could do it, but one evening my husband told me that I should at least give it a try."

In 2003, Marietta gave up her safe non-risky job to try to do what she truly loved! Dogs and Fashion. With the help of her husband and her two vocal fur kids Miki and Kobe, Vavadog was born!

This self-taught designer, loves to create pet products that have function and style. Vavadog designs are created with the dog in mind. Marietta is inspired by fun colors, interesting fabrics, as well as modern designs.
